The Arterie project started painting the streets last night!

From the website:

arterie is a contemporary public art venture based in Syracuse, NY that aims to celebrate the historical relevance of the Erie Canal and bring tribute to the lasting effect the canal has had on Central New York.  A continuous two-block stretch of road, formerly the actual location of the canal, will connect the Erie Canal museum and Clinton Square, becoming water once again through a modern application of blue paint. The design represents an abstract interpretation of the canal to give the project distinctiveness and a sense of texture, to be accomplished by a group of local artists and canal enthusiasts.

Come and help tonight and tomorrow!
